This is, once again, not your typical post about making New Year’s resolutions. I am not too keen on making resolutions once a year. I have written about this before. And every year I feel compelled to reiterate why I find traditional resolutions to be a bit of a racket.
I am a fan of using this time of year to reflect on the past year. And I am a fan of using this time of year to project on the next year. In fact, I think writing down your goals, and breaking them into manageable tasks that you do daily, weekly, and monthly, is really the best way to actually make a change. And it is the best way to ring in the new year with purpose and allow that purpose to grow through the year.
My coaching programs help people like you do just that. I help you set the goals and zero in on your why. Then I help you implement the steps needed to make things move – and change.
That last part is what I know stops you from making tangible progress.
You aren’t alone in not knowing where to start. Or, knowing where to start but getting stuck and then not knowing how to get unstuck.
Oh, how I love to get people unstuck, and solve problems – especially those problems that prevent you from creating your life and living it on your terms.
I suggest to you it is time, now, with a new year upon you to plan for great things. It’s time to visualize your life as one that you love – a life that is filled with fun, intention, and joy. And it is time for you to implement change using a minimalist mindset as your guide to follow through on your goals and intentions.
And I can help.
As a Holistic Lifestyle and Minimalist Coach, I help you see where you are cluttered and unwell. I tease out with you the layers and sort out the best place to start on your journey to a life you love. I also challenge you and hold you accountable because I want you to make progress. And I know so much growth and progress is made in the muck, in what scares you and challenges you most.
You only get one life, my friend. And if something about it feels heavy, chaotic, or unfulfilled, don’t you think now is the time to make a change?
If not now, when?
I know it can be quite the challenge to actually bite the bullet and decide that now is the time to make a change – whether to your space or your life. It can be a scary proposition to uncover and dig and have to make decisions on things you’d rather leave as is – for now. It might feel easier – safer -to wait.
But waiting gets you nowhere, fast.
While I don’t think making changes and projecting and visualizing your year ahead needs to be done only in December, it is as good a time as any to start. And start really begins with your willingness to want to change. In fact, your willingness to embrace the need for change can make all the difference.
To help make this new year the best one yet, start by asking a few questions about yourself, now, so when the new year arrives you can hit the ground running.
1. What do I want for my new year?
Do you want more peace, relationships, space, time for yourself? Maybe there is something you never got to start, or finish, this year that you want to put straight to the top of your list now. Write it down. See it as happening.
2. Where do I want to change, grow, and succeed?
Do you want to be healthier, lose weight, challenge yourself to do something that scares you? Let the idea of making a change wash over you and pull you in. Embrace the opportunity!
3. Am I content with the life I am living?
That last question might be the most important place to start. Do you feel fulfilled with the life you are living? Are you happy? If not, perhaps now is the time to do something about it.
You only get this one life (at least this time around). There are ways, daily, to embrace all the small things that make it truly wonderful, and worthy. But clutter and uncertainty, feeling unfulfilled, and having little purpose get in the way.
Those things make you feel stuck.
It is time to get unstuck, to make this one life you have, a life you love. A life that gives back.
It is time to make your life what you want it to be.
Start by answering those questions. And enter the new year ready to hit the ground running!
Make a change, embrace the life you truly want to live and make this new year the best one yet.
