The one thing that organization is not

{Inside: the one thing that organization is not and the best way to think about what organization is.}

Wellness, and how to feel good, is a bit of a buzz word these days. As an entrepreneur who believes organization is a key tool necessary in creating wellness it is a welcomed buzz.

And that welcome comes with caution.

You might hear the term organized and form misconceptions about what it means to be organized.

You might let the latest trend in organizing and all the products that make up that trend dictate what it means to be organized. And let you believe perfection will ensue.

Perfection is the operative word and is exactly what being organized is not.

The one thing that organization is not is perfect.

Being organized does not lead to perfection. And it does not mean you or life will be perfect.

It does mean your life will feel more in control, and you will feel more sane …or perhaps just less crazy.

Perfection isn’t real. {There, I said it!} And you should not focus on it or strive towards it in the process of getting organized or being organized.

Life is too fluid to think you can have “all the required elements, qualities or characteristics” of something (or someone) in sync, all the time.

And because life is fluid, things shift and change and come into your life and leave – often with a mess in its wake.

Curve balls disrupt life, leaving it feeling cluttered, chaotic, and stressful.

And organization is the antidote to it all.

You will move through life simply and sanely, when you arm yourself with the tools to catch life’s curve balls, instead of fighting against them being thrown in the first place.

When you organize things, calm exists in your space. You can slow down or stop the spinning wheels.

On a basic level, organization allows you to easily find what you need, when you need it without stress and frustration.

It is a simple benefit that pays dividends, over and over.

The best way to think about organization is that it is a tool that makes allowances for life’s imperfections.

It is a safety net that catches you amid slip-ups, mistakes, chaos and clutter — life! And helps you reset, and restore your life and your space back to calm and simple.

Organization feels good! It makes life, and the life you want to live, more available to you.

And because life is wrought with imperfection organization reminds you that you need not be perfect.

Your in-progress life is perfect enough.
